Welcome, HI-SPEED team members!
The Hospital Implementation of a Stroke Protocol for Emergency Evaluation and Disposition (HI-SPEED) study is a National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS)-funded, stepped wedge, cluster randomized trial involving eight health systems across the United States. The HI-SPEED study seeks to implement a seven-component intervention to improve the accuracy and timeliness of acute stroke diagnosis and door-in-door-out time for patients requiring transfer from a non-Comprehensive Stroke Center [i.e., acute stroke ready hospital (ASRH) or Primary Stroke Center(PSC)] to a Comprehensive Stroke Center for patients seeking care in the Emergency Department. This study is being led by the University of Chicago.
